Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly in discussions with Vitor Pereira, the current manager of Saudi Pro League team Al-Shabab, regarding the vacant position left by the dismissal of Gary O’Neil. The 56-year-old coach has no prior experience managing in the Premier League, though he was a strong candidate for the Everton coaching role in 2022. However, his career demonstrates extensive experience in other leagues. During his tenure, the Al-Shabab manager has secured four league championships across three different nations. He claimed two Primeira Liga titles during his two seasons at FC Porto in 2012 and 2013. Additionally, he led Olympiakos to victory in the Greek Super League in 2015. Pereira’s most recent league triumph was the Chinese Super League title, achieved while managing Shanghai SIPG in 2018. In addition to these league championships, Pereira’s accolades include several cup victories. These comprise two Portuguese Super Cups, one Greek Cup, and a Chinese Super Cup. Pereira’s managerial career spans more than two decades, with notable clubs such as Fenerbahce, Corinthians, and Flamengo also listed on his curriculum vitae.
