Gaz Drinkwater of BBC Radio Manchester believes Bruno Fernandes now needs “to right some of those wrongs,” following the midfielder’s disclosure that he apologised and took responsibility for Erik ten Hag’s dismissal. Discussing Fernandes’ remarks on the recent installment of BBC Radio Manchester’s The Devils’ Advocate podcast, Drinkwater stated: “There’s a part of me that is like ‘fair enough’ but there’s also another part that says ‘why’s this taken a few days to do this?’ I’m surprised it’s not just come out instantly on social media.” Drinkwater continued, “I don’t know what to make of it. We were calling on Erik ten Hag to take more ownership after some performances and Bruno Fernandes has taken ownership – he does feel responsible.” He added that with “a new man coming in, who he is going to know very well because he watches Sporting week in, week out because they’re his team – maybe it’s a chance to right some of those wrongs.” He further remarked that “A lot of people would say do you’re talking on the pitch rather than these pointless statements and apologies.” Drinkwater concluded by noting, “He has not been doing it this season. I don’t doubt him, I think he’s United’s best player – but we need more from him.” Post navigation Ross County Manager Don Cowie’s Post-Match Comments Following 1-2 Loss to St Mirren Vitor Pereira: A Profile of Wolves’ Managerial Target
