Former Premier League defender Gary Cahill stated that Manchester City “will get asked questions” during their current challenging period of form. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after City’s 2-0 defeat at Juventus, Cahill remarked: “You are scratching your head and you are wondering ‘why?’ And you are looking for solutions.” He elaborated on potential remedies, suggesting: “I think the only solutions are – you work even harder, you stick to the principles that have given them so much success over the years and you stay together as a group.” Cahill further added: “There is a lot of outside noise, which is expected. You get a pat on the back when you are doing well and get asked questions when you aren’t. They need to stick together as a group and go from there.” Regarding how Manchester City might salvage their season, Cahill mentioned it would not be surprising if they secured the FA Cup, advising them to “go and win a trophy.” He also suggested they “go and beat Manchester United at the weekend, build from there.” Concerning their league prospects, he believes it is “too late.” He noted that in recent seasons, teams typically lose a maximum of “between three and six games,” and City has “given up four already.” Therefore, he concluded, they “just have to keep working hard.” Post navigation Vitor Pereira: A Profile of Wolves’ Managerial Target Rodrigues and Jonassen Lead Brisbane Heat to Challenger Match
