Gwenllian Pyrs and Carys Cox, both regular starters for Wales, have undergone surgical procedures to address injuries sustained during the WXV2 tournament in October. Pyrs, a prop for Sale Sharks, incurred a neck injury during her time in South Africa. Concurrently, Cox, who plays as a centre and wing for Trailfinders, sustained a shoulder injury. Both athletes participated in all three WXV2 matches held in Cape Town, where Wales recorded losses against Australia and Italy before securing a victory over Japan. The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) will supervise the rehabilitation process for Pyrs and Cox. A spokesperson for the governing body anticipates their readiness to compete in the 2025 Women’s Six Nations.
