Scotland national team goalkeeper Eartha Cumings has asserted that Pedro Martinez Losa’s squad is under no pressure as they prepare for their journey to Finland this Tuesday. The Scots previously played Marko Saloranta’s side to a goalless draw at Easter Road during the first leg of their Euro 2025 play-off. The team is set to travel to Helsinki next week for the second leg, where the winning side will secure qualification for next year’s finals in Switzerland. In an interview with BBC Scotland, Cumings stated, “It was a tough night but I think we feel pretty confident in ourselves defensively.” She continued, “I didn’t feel massively pressured, I obviously wanted to keep a clean sheet but sometimes there’s nothing you can do about it.” Cumings also remarked, “I think I can be a bit of a whinger at the back but I couldn’t do what they do.” Concluding her comments, she affirmed, “Tonight wasn’t a bad result, the tie is still in the balance. We’ve just got to go away from home and play our best, the pressure isn’t on us.”
