Coventry City defender Luis Binks has stated that the team’s initial performance against Derby was detrimental to their prospects in the match. Derby, playing as visitors, established an early lead within the opening 15 minutes and secured a second goal in the final 20 minutes. This outcome resulted in the Sky Blues’ first loss in four Championship games, despite Tatsuihiro Sakamoto scoring his inaugural goal of the season. Speaking to BBC CWR, Binks commented, “We didn’t start well enough, we gave Derby a gift and found it tough to break them down.” He further elaborated, “We can’t give up two goals and put ourselves on the back foot like that.” Binks concluded by stating, “Once they got the goal they made it difficult for us and we’ve got to look at ourselves why it didn’t work.” Coventry is scheduled for a challenging series of matches, commencing with an away game at Sunderland on Saturday, followed by encounters with Sheffield United and Burnley after the upcoming international break. Binks further emphasized the team’s need to respond, adding, “We’ve got to take responsibility to bounce back on Saturday because we don’t want two defeats in a row after two good games.” Post navigation Scottish Premiership: Battle for Second Intensifies, Spotlight on McCowan and Kettlewell Truro City Manager John Askey Maintains Caution Despite Team’s Top Position
