Mikey Lewis, who has scored 51 tries in 101 appearances for Hull KR, will now wear the club’s number six shirt, which has been brought out of retirement for the reigning Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel winner. The Robins had retired the jersey in 2016 following the death of club legend Roger Millward at the age of 68. Lewis, 23, had an exceptional 2024 season, scoring 19 tries and helping the club reach its first-ever Grand Final, where they were defeated 9-2 by Wigan. “I can’t wait to run out in that first game at Craven Park and to have that number on the back of my shirt with my name on it, in the memory of Roger, will be really special,” Lewis, who previously wore the number seven shirt, informed the club website. Millward played 406 games for Hull KR, setting a club record with 207 tries and kicking 607 goals. He then served as the team’s coach for 11 years, during which he secured six trophies. His widow, Carol Millward, stated, “Watching Mikey play reminds me very much of Roger’s style of play. I think he’s worthy of it and I’m happy for it to be passed on.” Post navigation Celtic Supporters Reflect on Champions League Defeat to Chelsea, See Future Growth RB Leipzig Seeks Champions League Revival at Celtic Park
