David Gray, the head coach for Hibs, addressed the media in advance of his team’s Premiership fixture against Dundee United scheduled for Sunday. His comments included: Gray emphasized that securing points this weekend is the “be all and end all” for Hibs, stating his complete concentration is on this objective. He expressed his belief that “one win this weekend can be the kickstart Hibs need.” The head coach suggested that a victory “would change the narrative,” drawing a parallel to how the discussion has already evolved this week. He elaborated, saying: “The narrative was about us being defensively not good enough, we get a clean sheet and the attention changes to the top end of the pitch, that’s natural.” Gray indicated he would experience “more concern” if Hibs were not reaching positions to generate scoring opportunities. However, he is encouraging his team to “keep putting ourselves in these positions to miss them.” Achieving a clean sheet against Ross County on Wednesday was identified as “the positive.” While he would typically accept a midweek point from Dingwall, Gray reflected that, considering the “position we find ourselves in, we know we need more than that.” According to Gray, Dundee United have “demonstrated they’re a good side,” implying that securing the desired victory will necessitate “a big effort.” He stated his belief that Hibs supporters would approach the game without apprehension, asserting they would instead possess “optimism.”
