Fast bowler Scott Currie, who made his international debut for Scotland in March, has signed a new agreement with Hampshire, extending his commitment until the conclusion of 2027. The right-arm pace bowler first played for Hampshire in 2020 and has since appeared in 45 matches for the team. Giles White, Hampshire’s director of men’s cricket, commented on Currie’s performance, stating, “Scott made big strides last summer across all formats.” White further added, “He’s an exciting talent and an excellent professional. If he continues to develop, he has the ability to help take the team to the next level.” To date, Currie has claimed 73 wickets for Hampshire. He also made his international debut for Scotland in March, having qualified to represent them via his father. The 23-year-old player, who also had a loan spell with Leicestershire, was previously included in England’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 World Cup. Currie expressed his sentiments to the club’s website, stating, “I’m very honoured to extend my contract here at Hampshire.” He further elaborated, “The club took a punt on me and every step along the way it’s been about trying to repay some of that faith and this feels like another episode of that, so I’m delighted.” Post navigation Chiefs Secure Play-off Berth After Fending Off Late Raiders Comeback Wales and Saracens Prop Donna Rose’s Season Ends Following Neck Surgery
