Guernsey FC concluded an 11-game winless streak decisively, securing a 3-0 victory against 10-man South Park in the Isthmian League South Central. Sam Murray, whose season tally now stands at six goals, was instrumental. After having relinquished a 3-0 lead in the final 15 minutes at Ascot United last week, the Green Lions demonstrated resolve. Murray scored twice within the initial 10 minutes; his first came from Matt Loaring’s second-minute pass, followed by another five minutes later from Charlton Gauvain’s cross. Loaring then added his fourth goal in three games from close range, making the score 3-0 after 18 minutes. A potential fourth goal was missed five minutes before half-time when Ross Allen struck a penalty against the crossbar. In the ensuing events, South Park’s Danny Dudley received a second booking and was sent off. Matt Loaring also hit the crossbar with 12 minutes remaining in what was otherwise a subdued second half. This result marked only the third win of the season for the islanders, elevating them to third-from-bottom in the league table, seven points away from safety. Guernsey coach Steve Sharman commented on the outcome, stating, “It was a very much-needed three points, but really a much deserved win.” He added, “When you follow on from last week where we picked up a point away against a very difficult team that chunks together nicely, we’d have taken four points from those two matches.” Post navigation Chelsea’s Youthful Squad Departs for Conference League Match Belgium Secures Decisive Victory Over England in Pro League
