Kelly Gago registered her initial goal for France in October, contributing to a friendly victory over Switzerland. Everton has secured the services of French forward Kelly Gago from Nantes for an undisclosed sum. The 25-year-old player is scheduled to join the Blues upon the opening of the Women’s Super League transfer window on 1 January, contingent on international clearance. Gago marks the club’s inaugural signing under the new ownership of the Friedkin Group, which assumed control on Thursday. Gago commented, “I chose to come and play for Everton as I liked what [manager] Brian [Sorensen] had to say and how his team plays.” She further explained, “The way they attack as one and defend as one is what made me want to sign and [I want] to help achieve the club’s goals.”
