Birmingham City manager Chris Davies expressed his belief that his team has re-established its course for a League One title challenge, following two setbacks experienced in November. The 2-0 victory against fellow promotion contender Stockport County on Wednesday marked their second consecutive win since they lost points to Shrewsbury and Northampton last month. The Blues’ manager also suggested that his team, which was favored before the season to return to the second tier as League One champions, might now build significant momentum leading up to Christmas. Davies stated, “It was a big three points for us and I said to the players we had to show all three sides of our game – fight and determination, it was another clean sheet, and another couple of goals.” He added, “We are starting to build momentum again and I was really pleased.” Davies confirmed that forward Keshi Anderson will be unavailable for selection. The right winger received a yellow card and a subsequent suspension during the match against Stockport, which means he will miss Saturday’s away fixture at Barnsley. The Blues manager commented, “Keshi will always give his all and work hard and absolutely he will be a big miss.” He further explained, “He is an experienced player and that is why we are going to miss him. But that is why we have a big squad and it gives someone else an opportunity.” Birmingham enters the upcoming weekend in the third position in the league standings, trailing Wycombe by three points but holding a game in hand. They are also one point behind second-placed Wrexham, with two games in hand over the Welsh team. Sandi Toksvig is accompanied by Gyles Brandreth, Lulu, Emmanuel Sonubi, and Alan Davies.
