Cardiff City midfielder Aaron Ramsey has encountered a new obstacle in his recovery from a hamstring injury. The 33-year-old Wales captain has been sidelined since September, when he sustained the injury during his country’s Nations League victory in Montenegro. Although initially expected to resume playing within two months, Ramsey had rejoined training sessions with Cardiff City prior to the emergence of this latest issue. Omer Riza, the interim manager for the Bluebirds, stated, “Aaron has picked up a slight problem as well with the injury so it might be a bit further down the line.” Riza added, “We’re waiting for the medical team to clarify that. We have to be guided on that.” In addition, striker Kion Etete, who has been absent for the entire season due to a hamstring injury, has also experienced a delay in his anticipated return. Riza explained, “Kion had a little setback in the Brentford game [friendly during this month’s international break] so he’s been put back a couple of weeks. That was more cautionary.” However, there is more positive news regarding forward Callum Robinson and midfielder Joe Ralls, as both players have regained fitness and are available for selection for Saturday’s Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday.
