Torquay United manager Paul Wotton expressed his growing frustration with officiating decisions impacting his team following their 0-0 draw against Tonbridge Angels, a match where appeals to officials regarding a disallowed goal proved unsuccessful. New loan acquisition Keke Jeffers saw a late winning goal disallowed for offside, despite replays indicating it was legitimate. The 19-year-old Stoke City forward converted Matt Carson’s 89th-minute free-kick with a header, only for the assistant referee to signal for offside. This result caused the Gulls to descend to sixth place in National League South, even though they have suffered only one defeat in their last eight fixtures. “I knew in real time it can’t be offside,” Wotton told BBC Radio Devon. “The linesman obviously saw something different. It’s frustrating.” Notwithstanding his displeasure with the decision, Wotton stated his intention to focus on the positive aspects of the draw, noting that his team achieved a second consecutive clean sheet. “I’m trying not to be too frustrated because, in the cold light of day, there were lots and lots of positives – tonnes of them,” he said. “We looked defensively very sound and we did on Tuesday night as well, so that’s good because we’d been leaking some silly goals.”Two clean sheets, that’s good, unbeaten at home still, that’s good, we’re plugging away.” Post navigation Chelsea’s Upcoming Match in Kazakhstan Postecoglou Expresses Frustration Over Tottenham’s Missed Opportunity
