Swansea City head coach Luke Williams suggests his team is forging an “identity” following consecutive wins that have brought them within two points of the Championship play-off positions. On Tuesday, Swansea secured a merited victory over Watford, with Myles Peart-Harris scoring his inaugural goal for the team. This marked Swansea’s initial home win since mid-September, coming after their away success against Oxford United last Saturday. That previous victory had concluded a period of six games without a win and a five-match goal drought for the club. Despite their recent consecutive wins, Swansea continues to be the lowest-scoring team in the Championship. Nevertheless, Williams indicates that his squad is demonstrating indicators of advancement. The Swansea head coach stated, “When I look at the performances and try to look at the data in the performances – I know it’s not the most exciting thing in the world, but that’s what we have to do – and when I watch the games with my own eye, I feel like we are becoming a team with an identity.” He continued, “I think many of the games [this season] we have been able to make look the same. I think if we win more of those games, then we have a very good feeling.” Williams further expressed, “But I feel like we are going in the right direction and we are creating an identity where we can now establish ourselves in more games than not.” Swansea established dominance against Watford, largely due to a commanding performance in the first half, culminating in Peart-Harris scoring his initial goal for the club just before the interval. Despite Watford’s enhanced performance in the second half, Swansea maintained their lead to secure the victory, with Williams’ defensive line effectively containing the Hornets. Williams additionally commented, “The way the players approached the game from the beginning – very intense, concentrating a lot, playing really good attacking football and very quickly destroying opposition attacks…” He concluded, “This is the type of football I think is enjoyable and I hope it’s more enjoyable for the fans when we play like that.” Post navigation Los Angeles Lakers Secure Victory Over Toronto Raptors, Led by Anthony Davis and LeBron James Supporter Reactions to Liverpool’s 2-0 Victory Over Aston Villa
