Before competing in the Celtic Cup, Wales achieved two victories against Zimbabwe. During the Celtic Cup itself, they emerged victorious in all four of their matches. The Welsh Feathers triumphed over the Scottish Thistles with a score of 59-47 in Sunday’s final, securing the inaugural Celtic Cup title. Heading into the final match held in Glasgow, Wales had maintained an undefeated record, having won all three of their group stage fixtures. Following their 58-56 victory against the hosts in their opening tournament game, the Feathers achieved an even more decisive win against the Scots in the final, claiming success in the competition’s first edition. The Zimbabwe Gems secured third place in the tournament by defeating the Northern Ireland Warriors 55-48 in the third/fourth place play-off final.
