Pedro Neto’s inaugural Premier League goal for Chelsea resulted in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Sunday. The former Wolves winger was deployed on the left flank in the first half, though his second-half strike originated from a right-sided position. During his analysis of the match on Match of the Day 2, former Watford striker Troy Deeney commented that Neto’s capacity to cut inside from the right wing provides him with additional avenues to trouble opposing defenders. Deeney stated: “If you’re a full-back and you’re thinking he could kick it and run, I’ve got trouble so I can’t get too close – but if you get really close to him, he can drop his shoulder and run in behind.” He further added: “Pace scares people.” Deeney elaborated on Neto’s versatility, saying: “Coming in off that left foot, he can shoot or he can cross, but he’s also got that raw speed which is going to back defenders off.” Concluding his remarks, Deeney observed: “You can see what an acquisition he’s been for Chelsea.” Post navigation Supporter Feedback Following Liverpool’s 2-2 Draw Against Fulham Manchester City’s Rodri and Erling Haaland Nominated for Fifa Men’s Award
