Following Monday’s Premier League fixture between Fulham and Brentford, supporters were invited to share their perspectives. A selection of their comments is presented below: From Fulham supporters: Ben described the team’s display as “Phenomenal performance in almost very department,” highlighting their “ability to win the ball back constantly” as a strength. He noted “great link-up play” from Nelson and Smith Rowe, alongside a “prominent” cutting edge. Ben added that while “They nearly held on for it,” Wilson secured the victory, emphasizing that “against Brentford, it doesn’t matter how because they’ve had the bragging rights for too long!” Bob expressed a feeling of “Frustrating!” but praised Wilson as “what a player we have,” suggesting “He needs to start ahead of Pereira or we’ll lose him in the January window.” He also commended Robinson as “superb,” noting his “amazing pace for a big guy” and stating he is “another one we need to keep.” Bob believes the team possesses “the ability in the players we have,” but “they just need to finish better,” citing “Too many wasted chances.” Despite this, he concluded, “We’re looking up though and so we should.” Joseph observed that “It is obvious that we were really dominant up top,” but pointed out that with “26 shots, and only scored two,” there is a clear need to “really need to work on our shooting.” He also stated, “We also need a better set-piece coach desperately – we still haven’t scored from a corner this season.” Joseph acknowledged that “Brentford defended brilliantly, and good luck to them.” Andy described the outcome as a “Fantastic result.” He admitted, “Thought we weren’t going to be able to break them down even though we set up camp in their half the whole second half.” He also shared a personal anecdote, stating he “Sat watching it in an Icelandic pub and won over locals to supporting Fulham,” concluding with, “Now we celebrate!” From Brentford supporters: Tim attributed the result to “Weird substitution choices and a complete lack of possession or attacking intent in the second half.” He clarified, “It wasn’t so much Fulham’s press, it was more our lack of ability to complete more than two passes.” He identified “Another failure to keep a clean sheet” as “the biggest worry.” Will called the outcome “What a gutting result,” lamenting, “To hold on to 1-0 until stoppage time and let two in… it’s just horrible.” He felt the team “sat back” and argued, “you just can’t absorb the pressure of that many shots, even if only half-chances, and expect to keep points.” He noted, “Our subs were ineffective, and theirs stole the show,” but added, “Fair play to Fulham, though – they never gave up.” Paul expressed being “So tired of the Bees being so negative,” believing they “Got what they deserved, I’m afraid.” He described “The whole team was very poor” and criticized the strategy, stating, “You can’t park the bus for 90 minutes – show some adventure.” He concluded with a concern, “Just hope home form continues otherwise it’s the Championship.” Gary stated, “We were poor from the start and very fortunate to go in front from a great Janelt goal.” He felt “It was downhill after that apart from backs-to-the-wall defending,” describing the overall performance as “Very poor all round – no control of the ball, no progression, no attack. It was all coming from Fulham.” He concluded by calling it the “Worst I have seen Brentford play for a long long time” and urged, “Must do much better and very soon!”
