Narcis Pelach, the head coach for Stoke City, conveyed his “anger and disappointment” regarding his team’s concession of “way too many” duels during their 2-2 draw against Cardiff. Andrew Moran initially gave the Potters the lead. However, the visiting team leveled the score before halftime and subsequently took the lead due to an own goal by Ben Gibson. Stoke managed to secure a point late in stoppage time when Gibson compensated for his earlier error by heading in the equalizer. Despite this, Pelach stated he was “really unhappy” with the overall performance. Speaking to BBC Radio Stoke, Pelach stated, “I’m not pleased at all with what I’ve seen.” He elaborated on his concerns, saying, “You cannot compete in the Championship with this level of duels and second balls. We lost too many throughout the whole game. We need to win the ball back. “The ball is 50-50 and we need to have the right level of energy for winning it and then you have a chance.” He continued, “But if you don’t win duels and second balls in this league, it’s impossible. So, really disappointed with this performance.” Pelach concluded, “We save a point at the end with the set-play goal but we have to be much more mature and we have to compete much better than this.” Pelach indicated that the team members were cognizant of his dissatisfaction with the outcome, a result that positioned Stoke 17th in the league table, maintaining a five-point lead over the relegation zone. He further added, “I expressed that unhappiness to the team that if we don’t compete much better than that, we don’t have a chance in this league.” Post navigation British Champion Pauls Prepares for Career-Defining Bout Kieran McKenna Reflects on “Frustrating” Night After Ipswich’s Defeat
