Coventry City, currently without a manager, achieved a notable 2-2 comeback against promotion contenders Sheffield United over the weekend. The team will aim to deliver another strong performance when they visit fourth-placed Burnley on Tuesday. Burnley, known as the Clarets, have demonstrated strong form, having lost only one of their last 13 league matches (six wins, six draws). This places them just two points behind league leaders Leeds United. Furthermore, Burnley holds a notably strong historical record against Coventry City. In their last 10 league encounters with Coventry City, Burnley has suffered only one defeat (six wins, three draws), which was a 1-0 away loss in November 2010. Coventry City has not secured a victory in their last five league visits to Burnley (three draws, two losses), with their last win being a 2-1 success on the final day of the 2006-07 season. Burnley aims to achieve five consecutive home clean sheets in the league, a feat not accomplished since August 2009 when they recorded six. The last time they achieved this within a single season was in January 2005, during their time in the Championship. Following a period between April and October where they secured only three points from eight away league matches (three draws, five losses), Coventry has recently gathered five points from their last three away fixtures (one win, two draws). Burnley manager Scott Parker’s sole prior season facing Coventry occurred in 2021-22 while he was in charge of Bournemouth in the Championship, resulting in a 2-2 home draw and a 3-0 away victory.
