Tyrese Campbell, who joined Sheffield United in the summer after being released by Stoke, will be unavailable for Saturday’s Championship fixture against Cardiff City. However, manager Chris Wilder expressed optimism that Campbell could return for the team’s Christmas schedule. The forward’s absence stems from a hamstring injury, which has caused him to miss the last two matches. He was substituted during the Blades’ 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion earlier this month due to this injury. Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Wilder stated, “Tyrese won’t be available for the weekend – that’s a blow for us but as we have done over this last couple of months when we’ve had some injuries to deal with we’ve dealt with them pretty well.” He further added, “The injuries we don’t like are the ones we could have done something about, but that one was just unfortunate. Ty will work hard to get himself back and hopefully he’ll get back for the Burnley, West Brom, Sunderland trilogy we’ve got coming up.” Campbell currently leads Sheffield United in scoring this season, having netted six goals in eight league starts for the Championship-leading team.
