Shaun Norris emerged victorious at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, having started the final round six shots adrift of the lead. The final leaderboard was as follows: -13 S Norris (SA) -12 M Kinhult (Swe), J Parry (Eng), R van Velzen (SA) -11 A Ayora (Spa), D van Driel (Ned) Selected others: -10 A Sullivan, D Whitnell -9 N Kimsey, M Southgate -7 A Fitzpatrick Norris, competing in his native South Africa, clinched the Alfred Dunhill Championship by a single stroke, achieving a final-round score of 67. His winning performance at Leopard Creek Country Club included an eagle, five birdies, and one bogey, culminating in a total score of 13 under par. England’s John Parry, Sweden’s Marcus Kinhult, and South Africa’s Ryan van Velzen finished one shot behind, each at 12 under par. Kinhult, who had held the lead entering the fourth round, posted a 74. Van Velzen managed a 72, while Parry concluded his round with a 69. Van Velzen had an opportunity to join his compatriot Norris at the top of the leaderboard with a par on the final hole. However, his chances were extinguished when his ball went into the water, resulting in a bogey. English golfers Andy Sullivan, who scored a 70, and Dale Whitnell, with a 71, both finished the tournament at 10 under par.
