Riley McGree of Middlesbrough stated that the team needed to perform effectively ‘in both boxes’ during their 4-1 triumph over QPR. This win propelled Boro’ to an equal points standing with sixth-placed West Brom, prior to the evening’s Championship fixtures. Speaking to BBC Tees Sport, McGree remarked, “We were clinical and took our chances.” He further elaborated on the team’s all-around performance, adding, “Seny (Dieng) made some good saves and we got some blocks in so we had to be good at both ends.” Regarding the match’s progression, he commented, “At 2-1 I didn’t think it would slip away because as a squad we have good character and maturity.” McGree was instrumental in putting Middlesbrough ahead at Loftus Road, a result that marked only their second victory in their last six outings. The Australian international further commented on the dynamic nature of the game, stating, “Momentum changes during games, we surfed a wave and won comprehensively.” He concluded by emphasizing the importance of sustained success: “We’ve got to start consistently winning games and hopefully it’s only a matter of time before we get to where we want to be and need to be.”
