Fin Richardson, who participated in Scotland A’s victory against Chile last weekend, along with Jare Oguntibeju, is set to make their first appearances for Glasgow Warriors. Their debut will occur in Friday night’s URC match against Scarlets at Scotsoun, a game for which the Glasgow squad has been strengthened by the rejoining of seven Scotland international players. Macenzzie Duncan is listed among the substitutes and might also achieve his initial senior team appearance as Glasgow resumes play following the international break. Richardson, a former Scotland Under-20 prop who joined from Exeter Chiefs this summer, has been chosen for the tight-head position, forming the front-row alongside Patrick Schickerling and Johnny Matthews. Oguntibeju will play alongside Alex Samuel, a recent Scotland cap, in the second row. Jack Mann, a number eight, will make his inaugural home appearance, two years after his debut which was affected by injuries. Ally Miller is also scheduled to play his first match of the current season, and Henco Venter completes the forward pack. George Horne and Adam Hastings, both part of the seven returning Scotland international players, will form the half-back partnership. Stafford McDowall will captain the team from the outside centre position. The back-three remains the same as in Glasgow’s previous victory against Stormers, featuring Kyle Rowe and Sebastian Cancelliere on the wings flanking full-back Josh McKay. Glasgow, the reigning champions, currently hold second place in the standings, having secured four wins from their initial six matches. The Welsh team Scarlets is positioned in sixth place, seven points behind Glasgow. Warriors head coach Franco Smith stated: “We’re pleased to be back at home as we look to hit the ground running in the second block of our season.”The Scarlets have been in good form this season, and their mix of dynamic forwards and exciting backs can cause problems from anywhere on the field.”We’re also pleased to include Fin, Jare and Macenzzie in our matchday squad for the first time. All three have worked hard to earn their opportunity.” The Glasgow Warriors lineup for the match includes: McKay, Cancelliere, McDowall (c), Jordan, Rowe, Hastings Horne; Schickerling, Matthews, Richardson, Oguntibeju, Samuel, Miller, Venter, Mann. The list of replacements features: Stewart, Dell, Talakai, Duncan, Hiddleston, Fraser, Afshar, Weir.
