QPR’s Zan Celar Out with Hamstring Injury

QPR has announced that forward Zan Celar will be unavailable for an unspecified “period of time” due to a hamstring injury. This occurred after he received treatment during the club’s Championship victory against Norwich City. The Slovenia international striker had to leave the field only 13 minutes into Saturday’s 3-0 triumph over Norwich City. In an official injury statement, the club communicated: “The performance services department are currently working through early medical processes to ensure he is on the correct rehabilitation path and a further update on his timelines will be provided in due course.” Celar had not scored in his initial 16 matches for QPR following his summer transfer from Swiss club Lugano. He eventually scored his first goals for the team, netting both in a 2-0 victory against Cardiff last month. On a more optimistic note regarding injuries for the R’s, QPR anticipates the return of Ilias Chair, Michael Frey, and Jake-Clarke Salter prior to the demanding festive fixture schedule. On Wednesday evening, Rangers will play host to Oxford United in a Championship match, aiming to extend their unbeaten league run to five games, a feat not achieved since October 2022.
