Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has voiced concern regarding the Manchester City players’ apparent lack of confidence, stating it “is a worry.” This follows Phil Foden’s comment on BBC Radio 5 Live that “they switched off” after allowing the first goal against Manchester United. Speaking on the Football Daily podcast, Morrison added, “They are frustrated,” and noted that “Pep Guardiola has never been in this position and neither have some of the players.” He further elaborated, “They are used to winning football matches comfortably and those players now look down on confidence. It is a worry.” Luke Edwards of The Telegraph also contributed, stating, “I don’t think they have the right leaders in the dressing room to turn it around. They don’t seem to have the appetite to do it.” Edwards warned that the team faces “a real danger of unravelling so far that they implode.” He suggested that it is now appropriate to “ask the hard questions about whether this team have reached the end of their shelf life, if they still want to be there and are they as focused?” Edwards emphasized that while managers are often discussed, “it is also down to the players to show determination and fight to turn results around.” He concluded by observing, “There are suggestions now that they haven’t.” Post navigation Bookmakers’ Odds: Kevin Muscat Leads Race for Next Rangers Manager, Derek McInnes Second Pep Guardiola Addresses Injuries, Team Performance, and Tactical Tempo Ahead of Champions League Match
