Former Aberdeen captain Willie Miller offered his perspective, stating, “Celtic are the best team in Scotland and they’ve proved it once more.” He also commented on Rangers’ performance, noting, “It was a good cup final for Rangers, if being defeated in a cup final can be a good thing.” Miller suggested that Phillipe Clement could justifiably assert that his team played well and present to the fans that his players are starting to implement his desired strategies. He emphasized the closeness of the contest, remarking, “It was very, very close. It could’ve gone either way.” Miller concluded by saying, “I think Clement can be proud of the character and the fitness.” Billy Dodds, a former Rangers striker, remarked on Celtic’s ability to secure the win, stating, “Celtic found a way.” He acknowledged Rangers’ strong effort, explaining, “Rangers brought so much to it, they ran them so close and pushed them all the way, but Celtic just have the mindset to hit five perfect penalties.” Dodds further characterized Celtic’s mentality, asserting, “They have the mindset of champions.” Pat Bonner, who previously played as a goalkeeper for Celtic, observed, “Celtic were absolutely put to the test today, but they answered it.”
