Prop Alfie Petch, who has made three appearances for Gloucester this season, has been re-signed by the Cornish Pirates on a short-term loan agreement from the Premiership club. The 24-year-old previously played for the Pirates during the 2022-23 season before his move to Northampton. A club statement said he had trained with the squad this week and is available for selection with immediate effect. The Pirates are scheduled to host Doncaster at home on Sunday, aiming to extend their current three-game winning streak, which includes a victory against Coventry last weekend. Petch’s three appearances for the Cherry and Whites this season include their recent defeat against RC Vannes in the Challenge Cup. His professional career began with Exeter, and he also had a period playing for the French Pro2 team Biarritz.
