Plymouth Argyle’s 24-year-old centre-back, Lewis Gibson, a highly-rated defender, might be back on the field for Friday’s Championship match against Watford. He has been sidelined for a month due to a thigh injury. Prior to sustaining the injury during the 1-0 defeat at Millwall, Gibson had played in every game for Argyle. Head coach Wayne Rooney informed BBC Radio Devon, stating: “He’s trained for the last couple of days, so he should be available.” Rooney further elaborated on Gibson’s potential return, adding: “Whether or not he starts the game, that’s a different question. But he’s trained for the last few days and looked OK so he’ll hopefully be available.” Rooney also expressed optimism that Brendan Galloway and goalkeeper Conor Hazard might resume training within the coming weeks, following their respective injuries. However, captain Joe Edwards, Muhamed Tijani, and Ibrahim Cissoko are not anticipated to return to play before January at the earliest.
