Plymouth Argyle’s winger, Ibrahim Cissoko, is expected to be sidelined until January following surgery for a hip injury. The 21-year-old Netherlands Under-21 international has been a standout performer for Argyle this season, having scored twice in the 3-1 victory against Luton Town in September and starting in all three of the Pilgrims’ league wins. The injury to Cissoko occurred during the 5-0 defeat at Cardiff City, a match in which he was also sent off in the first half. Since his summer arrival on loan from French club Toulouse, he has netted three goals across 12 appearances. Cissoko’s absence adds to Plymouth Argyle’s growing list of injured players, which already features captain Joe Edwards, goalkeeper Conor Hazard, and defenders Lewis Gibson and Brendan Galloway. Head coach Wayne Rooney commented on the situation to BBC Radio Devon, stating, “It’s a big blow for us, a big loss.” He further explained the timeline of the injury: “He did it in the Cardiff game when he got sent off. He hasn’t trained since then, we sent him for scans and unfortunately it’s come back that he’ll need surgery and he’ll be out until January.” Consequently, Rooney might consider Mustapha Bundu or young players Tegan Finn or Freddie Issaka as potential replacements for Cissoko. Rooney also remarked, “I think he’s a really important player for us, but it’s an opportunity for other players to come in and hopefully they can take them.” Post navigation Huw Jones: Scotland Must Defeat Australia for Autumn Series Success Besiktas Reportedly Targets Italy Midfielder Jorginho
