A proposal to establish new and enhanced indoor and outdoor sports and recreational amenities in Truro has advanced. Specifically, the planning application for the Boscawen Park Sports Hub structure has been officially lodged with Cornwall Council. This initiative, spearheaded by Truro City Council and financed by Truro Town Deal, involves the erection of a new versatile building that will include updated changing rooms and adaptable interior areas suitable for various indoor sports and other engagements. According to Town Clerk David Rodda, the facility is anticipated to commence operations by March 2026, pending approval. The Local Democracy Reporting Service reported that the Truro Town Deal board secured £23.6 million in funding through a successful bid, designated for a variety of regeneration schemes. Mr. Rodda stated: “This is a truly defining stage for Boscawen Park Sports Hub and I urge local people to take a look at our plans and support the scheme which will bring new sports facilities to residents. The original design of the building has been amended but the overall aims of the project remain the same and I cannot wait to see local people enjoying their new facilities.”
