Paul Hutchison has been confirmed as Jersey’s permanent director of cricket. The 47-year-old, who previously played as a seam bowler for Yorkshire, Sussex, and Middlesex, and was part of the Denmark coaching set-up, initially took on the role temporarily in March following Neil MacRae’s departure. During Hutchison’s interim tenure, Jersey’s men’s team advanced to the final qualification stage for the 2026 T20 World Cup and currently leads ICC Challenge League B. Speaking to BBC Sport, Hutchison stated, “It’s nice that, after an initial period, that my bosses have seen the work that I’m doing and they’ve decided ‘this is the right man for the role’.” In addition to his responsibilities as men’s head coach, he will also supervise all women’s and age group cricket programs across the island. Hutchison expressed his commitment to maintaining the international achievements of all the island’s teams as they aim to improve their positions in the ICC rankings. He further elaborated on upcoming goals, stating, “We’ve got two big men’s tournaments next year, with the T20 [World Cup] and the 50 overs [ICC Champions Trophy], and we’ll be pushing very hard to try to qualify in both.” Hutchison added, “That leads to bigger and better things for everyone involved in Jersey cricket.” Regarding other teams, he noted, “The girls next year have their own ICC tournament which we’ll be pushing very hard for them to get some experience before that and then hopefully have a decent campaign. The under-19’s have a World Cup qualifying campaign themselves, so there’s plenty going on over the 2025 season.” Post navigation Motherwell 1-1 Kilmarnock: Match Review Kilmarnock’s 1-1 Draw Against Motherwell: Match Review
