Midfielder Louie Sibley is set to be unavailable for at least the next four weeks following an ankle injury. Sibley had played his first Championship match as a starter this season in Saturday’s 2-1 home loss to Swansea, but he did not participate in Tuesday’s win against Hull City. Oxford manager Des Buckingham shared his concerns with BBC Radio Oxford, stating, “My injury board has got too many names on it at the moment.” He further clarified Sibley’s situation, saying, “Louie (Sibley) went over on his ankle in training on Monday and will be out for four to six weeks.” Buckingham also noted that Ben Nelson was forced to leave the field tonight (against Hull) and will undergo assessment to determine if a scan is necessary. Oxford’s victory over Hull City was their first in nine Championship fixtures, and the team is now preparing for an away game at Watford scheduled for Friday. Buckingham also commented on the squad’s current state, adding, “We are really testing the depth of our squad, Jordan Thornley has been out with an ankle injury which he sustained two or three months ago and has been coming back from that.” He concluded by stating, “We are eight or nine starting players light which impacts us more than it might other teams in this league but we won’t use that as an excuse.” Post navigation Rooney: Plymouth Argyle May Recall Earley from Lincoln Loan Over Game Time Former Millwall Manager John Docherty Dies at 84
