The Ospreys rugby club has announced the signing of Ieuan Cornelius, a New Zealander who is qualified to represent Wales. Cornelius also possesses a background in athletics. Cornelius, a versatile back, was born in Wellington but spent a portion of his childhood in Swansea, owing to his father’s origins in Morriston. The 19-year-old spent the majority of his playing career in Australia, where he was part of the Queensland Reds setup and, most recently, Bond University. He received coaching from All Blacks legend Rico Gear at the Under-20 level and for the men’s elite sevens squad. “Being here, back home with the Ospreys, feels right,” said Cornelius. He further commented, “I get to train amongst some of the best players in the world. The likes of Jac Morgan, Dewi and Beardy, it’s an awesome experience.” Post navigation Football Club Faces Closure Nearing Centenary Anderson Views Late Equalizer as Potential Turning Point for Kilmarnock
