An analysis conducted by Opta’s supercomputer has identified the newly promoted clubs, Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City, as the three teams most likely to face relegation from the Premier League this season. Southampton currently occupies the bottom position in the league standings and remains winless after 10 matches since their return to the top flight. The computer assigns them a 94.9% probability of relegation. Despite having climbed out of the bottom three following an impressive first victory of the season against Tottenham this weekend, Ipswich is projected as the next most probable team to be relegated, with a 70.7% chance. Leicester, positioned 15th and three points clear of the drop zone, is nonetheless ranked by Opta as the third most likely side to experience relegation, carrying a 46.9% chance. Wolves, Everton, and Crystal Palace are also among the teams with a notable risk, each having an 18% or higher chance of dropping to the second tier by May.
