Great Britain’s Olympic and world triathlon champion, Alex Yee, is scheduled to compete in the 2025 London Marathon. Yee previously secured individual gold and mixed relay bronze in Paris, following his individual silver and mixed relay gold achievements in Tokyo. The 26-year-old athlete, who was born in London, has accumulated four Olympic triathlon medals, including his individual gold and mixed relay bronze at the Paris 2024 Games. Having previously represented Great Britain in track and cross country events, Yee will make his debut over the full marathon distance on Sunday, 27 April. Regarding his decision, Yee, a five-time participant in the Mini London Marathon, stated, “Committing to the London Marathon for me was a no-brainer. It is an event that has given me so many memories.” He added, “Taking part in a full marathon has always been an itch I’ve wanted to scratch and there isn’t any another place than London that I would want to start that journey.” In August, Yee claimed his inaugural Olympic title in Paris by overtaking New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde during the final stages. He then went on to secure his first world title in October, finishing third in the final held in Spain.
