Northampton Town has extended the contracts of defenders Nesta Guinness-Walker and TJ Eyoma. Guinness-Walker initially joined the club in late September, with Eyoma arriving five weeks later. Guinness-Walker, a 25-year-old former Reading left-back who was released by the Royals during the summer, has made 12 appearances since his arrival on a short-term contract at the end of September. He has now committed to an 18-month contract. Concurrently, Eyoma’s agreement has been prolonged to run until the conclusion of the current season. Eyoma, aged 24, also joined as a free agent in early November, having been released by Lincoln City at the end of the previous season. He has since played in nine matches, though he received a red card in his latest outing, which was Tuesday’s EFL Trophy loss against Peterborough United. Currently without a permanent manager, the Cobblers are positioned 19th in League One, only two points above the relegation zone. Under caretaker boss Ian Sampson, following Jon Brady’s departure on 5 December, the team has recorded one win and one loss in their two league matches. This Saturday, Northampton Town will host Charlton Athletic, who are currently in 14th place.
