Myles Peart-Harris was initially signed as a central attacking midfielder and has also been utilized as a striker. However, the 22-year-old seems to have discovered his optimal position as a wide player within Luke Williams’ Swansea City squad. Peart-Harris, aged 22, scored his first goal for the club against Watford on Tuesday, marking his 11th appearance for Swansea and fifth start. This winning goal against the Hornets concluded what was described as his most recent promising performance, indicating he is becoming more comfortable playing in the Championship. Swansea head coach Luke Williams commented, “I think he’s a young player who didn’t play at the level before and is very quickly adapting and then doing a bit more than adapting, he is looking like he’s feeling more and more comfortable.” Williams added, “I loved the goal because he had a couple of chances in previous games where he didn’t assert himself, where I think he didn’t really believe in that moment that he was going to score. But I think he ended up in the goal with the ball [against Watford] and I love that because he’s like, ‘I’m taking it, this is mine’.” Peart-Harris is on a season-long loan at Swansea from Brentford, where he has made a limited number of senior appearances after spending a significant portion of his youth career at Chelsea. He spent the latter half of the previous season on loan at Portsmouth, contributing two goals in 12 matches to help Pompey secure promotion from League One. After scoring against Watford, Peart-Harris demonstrated his awareness of Swansea’s history by mimicking Michu’s hand-to-ear celebration. Michu was a key player during Swansea’s seven-year tenure in the Premier League, notably scoring 22 goals across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign. Peart-Harris stated, “He’s a Swansea legend. Ever since I joined the club, I’ve been telling my friends that’s the celebration I wanted to do.”
