Harry Paton attributed his ability to navigate the “toughest time” of his professional career to the strong camaraderie within the Motherwell squad. The 26-year-old Canada international midfielder had been sidelined for almost four months following an ankle injury sustained in July during Motherwell’s 3-1 League Cup victory over Clyde. Paton recently returned to action, coming on as a substitute against St Johnstone prior to the international break, and is now aiming to secure a place in the starting lineup. With Motherwell scheduled to play Ross County away on Saturday, Paton commented: “It was unfortunate getting injured. I’ll be honest, it was probably the toughest time in my football career, being out, getting the first operation on my ankle.” He continued, referencing the team’s support: “But we have such a strong group here and they were able to help me out as much as I could help them out as well, in behind the scenes doing fitness and stuff.” Paton also praised the club’s medical team, stating: “We’ve got a great staff here as well, the medical department. I’ve got to tip my hat to them for getting me back the way they did.” Expressing his eagerness to return to regular play, Paton added: “I’m just looking forward to playing again and hopefully can get my spot in the team and just keep working hard.” He further elaborated on the team’s bond and his personal motivation: “We’ve got a really close changing room and that’s what I love to do – be out playing. So when I can’t do that I just keep myself going and just wait for my chance and just stay healthy. That’s the main thing.” Post navigation Fan and Broadcaster Advocate for Salah’s Contract Extension at Liverpool Former Wolves Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme Discusses Team Commitment Ahead of Crucial Match
