Andy Mitten, editor of United We Stand, conveyed his “surprise” regarding the exit of Manchester United’s sporting director, Dan Ashworth, after only five months in the position. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Mitten offered his perspective: “I have spoken to a lot of people inside Old Trafford and I’ve not heard a bad word about Dan Ashworth.” “I was told by people that I trust that he had a good connection with the players, they respected him and so did general staff at the club.” “I can’t say a bad word about him. I bought into the feeling that he was very good because of the time they waited to get him. It’s now going to cost them a lot of money, so that made me even more surprised by the news.” “The optics of it do not look good at all for the club.” “I didn’t have any inclination that it was coming, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be making these decisions. He is spending a lot more time than I thought he would at the club.” Post navigation Nepal Secures Five-Wicket Victory Over Scotland in Texas ODI Mooney’s Goal Featured in Scottish Premiership Analysis
