Mike Tyson has stated that his recent loss to Jake Paul felt like a win, attributing this sentiment to a severe health crisis he experienced earlier in the year, during which he “almost died.” The bout itself had been postponed in May. The 58-year-old boxer was defeated by the YouTuber-turned-boxer via a unanimous points decision in a contest held in Texas on Friday, which drew significant criticism. On Instagram, Tyson commented, “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” He added, “I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.” Tyson further elaborated on his health ordeal, stating, “I almost died in June. Had eight blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight, so I won.” Spectators expressed their dissatisfaction with boos towards the conclusion of the match, reportedly frustrated by the uninspired performance. Over the course of the eight rounds, Tyson connected with only 18 punches, significantly fewer than Paul’s 78. This marked Tyson’s seventh defeat in 57 professional fights. The boxing match, originally slated for July, was rescheduled in May following medical recommendations after Tyson experienced a stomach ulcer flare-up, an incident he has now disclosed was graver than initially understood. Tyson concluded by saying, “To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for,” adding, “Thank you.” Post navigation Tom English Seeks Kilmarnock Questions Norwich City Captain Kenny McLean Receives Second Four-Match Suspension
