Middlesbrough head coach Michael Carrick, who has led the team since October 2022, expressed caution regarding the challenge presented by a “dangerous” Leeds United as his squad prepares for an away match at Elland Road. Carrick indicated satisfaction after Boro’s 1-1 draw against Burnley on Friday, but acknowledged that his team anticipates another demanding Championship fixture against Daniel Farke’s squad on Tuesday. The 43-year-old manager conveyed to BBC Radio Tees, “We know it’s a big challenge, they’re playing some really good football, getting some really good results and got some fantastic individual players.” He added, “We’ve had some good games against them over the last year or so and I’m sure this one will be no different.” Despite Boro’s comfortable 3-0 victory over Leeds in the Carabao Cup in August, Carrick stated he is not placing significant emphasis on that particular outcome. He explained, “Every game is different but with it being in the cup there is a different side to it, they are kind of one-off games.” The former midfielder for England, Manchester United, and West Ham also confirmed the return of defensive players Rav van den Berg and Lukas Engel to first-team training. Carrick commented, “Rav’s back with us, he’s been out for us for some weeks.” He continued, “Lukas has just joined in for the first time with us in a small capacity which is great, so we’re in good shape.” Post navigation Kamwa Emphasizes Importance of Home Support for Newport County Managers Share Post-Match Thoughts After Hibernian’s 4-1 Victory Over Partick Thistle
