Michael Connor has been named the new manager of Blyth Spartans, a club currently positioned 22nd in the Northern Premier League. This decision comes days after businessman Martin Trinder completed his acquisition of the club. The change in leadership follows the dismissal of the previous manager, David Stockdale, last week. Stockdale’s tenure lasted only 48 days, having succeeded former Newcastle United and West Ham midfielder Nolberto Solano. Trinder leads a consortium that took over ownership of the club from Irfan Liaquat. On Saturday, Blyth Spartans experienced a 3-0 loss to Ilkeston Town in the Northern Premier League. This game was their first in three weeks, occurring after a period of disruption for the club. The team currently occupies the bottom spot in the league standings, two points behind the next position.
