Mandla Mashimbyi, who previously served as an assistant coach for the South Africa men’s team, has been named the new head coach of the South Africa women’s side. This appointment comes ahead of their upcoming one-day international series against England. Mashimbyi’s prior experience includes stints as both bowling and assistant coach for the men’s national team. He takes over from Dillon du Preez, who had been serving as interim coach since Hilton Moreeng’s departure in May, after Moreeng held the position for over 11 years. The former Titans fast bowler is set to make his debut as head coach during the first One-Day International against England, scheduled for 4 December in Kimberley. Subsequent matches will take place in Durban and Potchefstroom. Mashimbyi brings extensive coaching experience to the role, having secured multiple championships with Titans. Most recently, he served as the fast-bowling coach for the Paarl Royals in the SA20 franchise league.
