During a recent broadcast of BBC Radio Manchester’s The Devils’ Advocate podcast, presenter Gaz Drinkwater shared his perspective on Ruben Amorim, stating: “Bear with me, Amorim won’t be a success at Manchester United and it’s not necessarily anything to do with him or his management style or anything like that. He is going to have to change so much at this football club, in terms of making this team a winning team. When I say success, I don’t mean Ten Hag level of success. I mean winning Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues that we set all those years ago and I don’t think we are going to reach them.” Drinkwater further elaborated on the club’s financial situation, adding: “We don’t have the money to spend. I don’t mean it’s a case of throwing money at it, but it’s a case of Amorim getting people in who share his mentality and his way of playing.” Co-presenter Joe McGrath subsequently contributed to the discussion, remarking: “I think we’re struggling because we are trying to give Amorim a pre-season with this squad, but then every game matters from Arsenal to the Europa League games coming up to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup soon. We are coming up against teams. I think Ruben Amorim is realising that in the Premier League there are no easy games.” McGrath also reflected on the recent match against Forest, describing it as a significant disappointment: “The Forest game on the weekend, I just found it to be a low blow. I found it gutting. I thought we can win this and beat Forest. We’ve got a good team, we know what we’re doing, we’re scoring more goals, the players are playing well, Rashford is scoring, Hojlund is scoring, we’re getting back to a little bit of a momentum, maybe we can forget Arsenal and beat Forest at Old Trafford. The mistakes on the pitch that led to Forest going ahead felt like a blast from the past.” Post navigation Oxford United Coach Buckingham Unconcerned by Team’s Form Ten-Year Anniversary of Bristol Academy’s Champions League Victory Over Barcelona
