Former Chelsea midfielder Pat Nevin stated that Manchester City faces “real danger” in the Champions League following their 2-0 defeat against Juventus in Turin. This loss places Pep Guardiola’s team one point behind Paris Saint-Germain, their upcoming adversaries in the tournament standings. Appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live, Nevin remarked: “The biggest worry is, you keep on playing like this then there is a chance you don’t get through.” He acknowledged that with “two games [to go] they should still be able to do it.” However, Nevin added: “But the saddest thing about Manchester City tonight is ‘are you really shocked?’ I’m not completely shocked.” He attributed this to their recent performance, citing “the tiredness, we know about the injuries, playing players he’d rather rest.” Nevin further noted that manager Guardiola “had nobody he could really go to on the bench tonight to change things.” Nevin characterized the current situation as “just hell on hell for Manchester City supporters.” He observed that the team “look to me like a team that is not capable of doing it at the intensity they need to do it, at the top level, to win these games week after week.” Reaffirming his earlier assessment, he stated: “They are in real danger.” Nevin concluded by describing the players’ state, saying: “It is almost shock [among City players], they are stunned by this nightmare that keeps on going.” Post navigation Mousinho Hails Lang’s Exceptional Display After Four-Goal Haul Pembridge Advises Sean Dyche to Diversify Tactical Approach
