Luton Town continues to face injury challenges, with right-back Daiki Hashioka largely unavailable for Friday’s game against Derby County, scheduled for 20:00 GMT. Hashioka is the latest addition to The Hatters’ defensive injury list, which already includes Teden Mengi, Amari’i Bell, Reece Burke, and Reuell Walters. The Japan international was substituted during last week’s match against Blackburn Rovers due to a strain injury. While he has since returned to training, manager Rob Edwards confirmed that Friday “might be too soon for him.” Meanwhile, Edwards also reported that captain Tom Lockyer is “doing really well” in his recovery from a cardiac arrest suffered last December. However, Lockyer has sustained a damaged ligament after rolling his ankle in training, an injury that will keep him sidelined. The squad will be reinforced by new signing Erik Pieters, a defender who Edwards confirmed has been training with the team for two weeks. Defender Mads Andersen has also fully rejoined training and is available for selection. Regarding potential reinforcements during the January transfer window, Edwards emphasized that the club has a plan but “will see how things shape up.” Edwards elaborated on the nature of the transfer period to BBC Three Counties Radio, stating, “January – we can have a good plan but it’s quite unpredictable as well. It’s not just us who can decide what’s happening. There’s other clubs, players, agents – it’s quite dynamic.” He added, “If we were in control of every single aspect of it, it would be really easy but we’re not.” Post navigation Potter Rebuffed Wolves’ Managerial Interest Dundee United vs. Motherwell: Squad Updates
