Lee Bell will continue in his role as Crewe Alexandra manager, despite receiving interest from another undisclosed club. Bell has overseen 114 games as the club’s boss. His appointment to the permanent managerial position occurred two years ago, following a month as interim manager after his predecessor, Alex Morris, decided to step down. A statement released by the club confirmed: “Crewe Alexandra are delighted to confirm that Lee Bell will remain in charge after turning down an official approach from another club.” The statement added: “The manager has reaffirmed his total commitment to leading our promotion push and his focus is on Friday’s clash with Colchester United.” Under Bell’s leadership, Crewe concluded the 2022-23 season in 13th place. Last season, he guided the team to the play-offs final, where they were defeated 2-0 by Crawley Town at Wembley. Currently, the team holds third position in the league standings, following a 2-0 victory at Grimsby Town on Saturday, with goals scored by Jack Lankester and Joel Tabiner. Crewe Alexandra is presently on an 11-game unbeaten run in the league. Following their home fixture against Colchester on Friday, the team is scheduled for consecutive away matches against Cheltenham Town and MK Dons before the year concludes.
