Stoke City is set to visit Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening, seeking their second away victory of the current Championship season. The team managed by Narcis Pelach has secured one win in their last five matches (three draws, one loss), whereas Rovers have not achieved a win in their last three outings (one draw, two losses). Last season, Blackburn achieved a league double against Stoke. They are now aiming for a third consecutive victory against Stoke, a feat not accomplished since a sequence of five wins between 1988 and 2008. Stoke City experienced an eight-game unbeaten streak in league matches at Ewood Park from 2009 to 2022, but they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the venue last season. During that particular match, Tyrhys Dolan of Blackburn netted two goals, marking his inaugural brace in a league fixture. Blackburn has not recorded a victory in a midweek league encounter since their 2-1 triumph against Bristol City in December 2023. Since then, their record stands at three draws and four losses, and they have failed to score in six of those seven matches. Stoke has neither won nor scored in any of their last four away league fixtures (one draw, three losses). Outside of the top-flight, The Potters have not endured a sequence of five consecutive away league games without scoring since August 1997, a period which saw them go nine games without a goal.
