Josh Tymon is set to return to Hull this weekend, expressing confidence that he has further contributions to make for Swansea City during the current season. Tymon has participated in every Swansea match during the 2024-25 season, with the sole exception of the victory against Watford in early November, which he missed due to suspension. The left-back has secured a consistent position under manager Luke Williams, yet he aspires to enhance his contributions to the Swansea team as the season progresses, starting with Saturday’s Championship fixture against the Tigers. Tymon characterized his performance this season as a “bit of a mixed bag,” stating: “I haven’t really been at my best at times. Some games I’ve looked my best and then dipped off.” He further elaborated on his self-assessment: “One of my biggest strengths is to put good quality into the box for our forward players and, at times this season, it has not been there.” He also mentioned ongoing efforts: “I am always working on my defensive stuff which has got a lot better since last season. But I have to keep on working.” Tymon, aged 25, transferred to Swansea from Stoke City in the summer of 2023. This move occurred six years after he initially joined the Potters from Hull City. A native of Hull, Tymon began his career with his hometown club at the age of 12, making his senior debut for the Tigers when he was just 16 years old. He accumulated 14 appearances for Hull, including five in the Premier League, prior to his departure for Stoke. Tymon stated that a return trip to Humberside consistently represents a significant match. He remarked: “It’s the place where I was born and a lot of my family still are now.” He continued: “I spent a long time at the club, right through the academy to being the lucky one to make my debut there.” Tymon also added: “I always look for this fixture when it comes around, more so because of how many tickets I will have to find.” Tymon has expressed enjoyment regarding his previous visits to Hull, having secured victories there twice with Stoke and once more with Swansea last season. He commented on the experience: “As players going back to get former clubs, you get some sort of abuse.” He further explained: “That’s part of football. You can either fold or you can embrace it.” Tymon concluded: “Luckily for me I have been on winning sides every time I have been back there, so it’s a nice feeling. I want to see Hull doing well but obviously when I am playing them, I want to do the best for my team.” Post navigation Ross County Aims to Overcome Recent Setbacks Ahead of Key Hibs Encounter Amadou Onana Scores Aston Villa’s Opening Premier League Goal
